Ok bought our first 4Runner on Saturday. This is our 7th Toyota in 11 years- we traded our 05 Sienna. Any way we love the 4Runner my wife kicked her 2010 Camry to the curb and drives this beauty to work. Question what is that clicking noise when it rolls back on the drive way?

Hill assist or hill start assist. Can't remember exactly what it's called. Keeps you from rolling backwards on a hill. Freaked me out the first time it kicked in on my driveway.

not sure if its a click, but i had a clunk for a while. it went away on its own and i havent had it since.

when i took it in mechanic said it could have been something to do with the diff fluid level. they checked it out and everything was fine and of course they couldnt duplicate the problem there so i guess its all good.

dont worry about it too much and congrats on the new 4R :D

Same here my wife was pulling into the driveway when we brought it home and while wating for the garage door to open she let it slip backwards and we hear this click -click-click noise. I thought the 4Runner had turned off. I looked at her and said " What are you doing? Turn it back on!" She says "It is on" And we pull into the garage. LOL Then it happened to me the next day and she just looks at me, you know with that wife look, like "Hey Idiot turn the car back on!"

Thanks for the responses!
