Bought the Limited 5th Gen

OK so picked up the 5th Gen Limited yesterday. Color Gray Metallic, Options None - dealer will install the Auto-Start since we didn't have the factory installed option.

So deal wise it was a bad deal. No other ways to put it. The wife wrecked the car so I had to lock into a car weeks ago and after driving a bunch of others it was the Limited or the Pathfinder. The Pathfinder was at a much better price, but we preferred the 4Runner plus Nissan pissed me off with a $2,000 Alaska Fee that no other brand has. While the local dealer took it off it basically cost me $1,000 in other incentives so just based on principle (and preferring the 4Runner :) ) we went with the more expensive option.

Dealer told me to lock in the one he had coming he would only go 1% off MSRP and pick up half the cost of the autostart - basically put it at the same cost as if I had gone with OEM install.

Did get a 4.49% rate from Toyota which I was pretty happy with (couldn't beat it with any other financial institutions).

The wife loved the drive home in it (I haven't driven it yet). She did say the drive was very smooth and very quiet. The interior with the big knobs has grown on me already after being inside the SR5 once and the Limited once before. I think I really like it. Did open the garage door last night to just look at it and I really like the front look. Now I never had a 4th gen etc so that is probably part of it.

Will post some other impressions once I have driven it, but right now we have the second 4Runner sold in Alaska and the first Limited :). With that said it tears my heart out to do a "bad" financial deal no matter what the circumstances were. I drove 6 hours to three different dealers to haggle the price of my Armada on purchase day. This was after a week of haggling the price online and testing 27+ different cars (I seriously counted, but might have missed a few)

I just hope the Toyota holds up like my Honda's with no issues

If you keep it for 10 years, the 10% different in purchase price between a "good" deal and a "bad" one doesn't amount to much.

The difference now doesn't change though :). I hear you and I rather get a car we are happy with and so far that is the case. Considering that my wife and son walked out of a car that rolled three times without any injuries I also really don't care about loosing a thousand bucks on a "deal".....
