Brake Calipers

I recently had to replace both of my front brake calipers due to frozen pistons...this was pretty easy thanks to everyones posts. I was wondering if anyone had any trouble with the rear calipers? My front calipers were so rusted I am nervous about the rear.

I'm sure someone has had to do rear calipers but I don't recall seeing many (or any) posts about failed rear calipers. The rears are a much simpler design and seem to be less prone to having issues.

Not exactly an answer to your question, but you can prevent it by flushing the brake system every 2-3 years. Brake fluid absorbs moisture, and it's that moisture that causes the pistons to freeze up.

If you push the truck hard (or in my case, not that I push it hard lol) when you drive over a bump while braking and the computer decides to slam the brakes on full, then both front and rear does seize as did mine. My truck did that but it was more of an electric problem rather than a plumbing one.
