Despite never changing the brake fluid on previous vehicles and it not being a standard mainenance item, I've read enough to convince me it's probably a good idea. Plus, I'm experiencing a soft pedal on initial press, but if I "double click" the pedal, it's nice and firm.
Which leads to the questions...how do you dispose of the old fluid? According to one of the recycling web sites, I can find local sites for oil and coolant, but no one lists brake fluid.
Having just found a TSB for a "new design" anti-squeal shim for 2003-2005 models, I'm wondering if my soft pedal may have qualified, had I known about the TSB before my warranty ran out. But, I can't quite see how an anti-squeal shim could effect pedal feel.
