Brake Issues after battery disconnect

What's up fellas? So I was doing a full rust prevention on the underside of my Runner last week and to cut back on risk I disconnected the battery, I didn't want anything sparking when I was blasting it with extremely flammable paint chemicals....

After I reconnected my battery my brake light, (parking brake light) traction control, anti-lock brake lights are all on and my vehicle stability control light is flashing.... I tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it I figured that maybe it sent the sensors off because I had it up in the air with no tires on it or anything when I reconnected it the first time well it didn't do anything the lights are still on....

Anybody have any thoughts why? I've been in a panic it's my Runner you understand that maybe the Eastwood Rust encapsulator ( which absolutely rocks!!) Got in some where it wasn't supposed to and fried something.... I don't know it's running and stopping fine but the lights are on and it drives me crazy.... I posted this on a thread Revival somebody else had the same issue back in the day but nobody responded....

I have only one guess to try the zero point calibration. Was the car perfectly level when you reconnected everything?

Just run it, computer will automatically reset it after about 50 miles or so. If you have a scanner with Toyota dtc and abs capacity you cant reset the comp

Not the first time no that's why I figured I whacked something out the second time I just did before I posted the thread and yes it was perfectly level at time.... I'll have to type in the search what is zero point calibration is...

I was going to buy one I don't have one right now do you have any recommendations on a good one? I was just looking at the $200 Harbor Freight one I got a coupon it would knock it down to like a hundred bucks and I've never had any problems with anything I bought there before but if there's better ones geared more specifically to Toyota I would get that my wife's car is a Lexus so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated....

When it comes to scanners u get what u pay for. A good scanner with dtC (vehicle specific codes), abs, and live data are gonna cost you 500 to 1k depending on the ability. Example my snap on scanner handles all of the above and then some.... works for pre-obd, obd 1, obd 2, obd 3. As well as I can load and update manufactured specific dtc .

So after a few hundred miles the brake light did not reset so I'm going to have to get a scanner I found a Toyota specific one for $300 or just a Harbor Freight one which I'm sure would probably be fine 4 200 normal price but I have a bunch of coupons so I can get it for about a hundred I bet you it would get the job done....

In case anyone is interested I found the issue when I was doing my lift this week an ABS wire on the rear passenger tire got ripped right out of the sensor I'm assuming what happened is when I jacked it up the first time did it must have been wrapped around something and when the tires drooped it put too much tension on it and ripped it right out....

It's ripped clean out of the sensor can I resolder the wires back into that sensor? If not I can buy a new one but it's the actual plug part that's ripped out....

I read your topic about your issue the other day but didn't have time to reply, but I was going to suggest you check all the wires/connections to your wheel speed sensors, glad you found the issue.

If the wire just pull out of the connector, you maybe able to depin the connector and resolder the wires and be fine...IF the pulling out of the wire/s
didn't damage the actual sensor or the rest of the wiring harness, the only way to find out is to try it and see if it solves the issue.

Sorry for taking so long to reply I've been busy but I ended up just buying the entire harness it was expensive like $150 but it's the wires that go to both sides and then goes up into the body it's got plugs at all ends though so it was like a five minute job
