Brake noise

Whenever I brake semi hard, my '07 6 cyl Ltd. makes a little thunk just after it comes to a compete stop and the vehicle settles down. Feels like there might be play in the brake pads? Are they all like this or should I have it checked?

The "thunk" you are getting is normal for many different trucks. On the 4Runner it helps to lube/grease the propeller/drive shaft. Do a search and you should be able to get more info (zerk fitting locations for drive shaft). The drive shaft on the 4Runner is telescopic and binds without grease.
