brake part name help

hello everone i had recenly maid a thread about my yota having no brake pressure now i have found the leak..
the leak is coming from behind the gas tank.. so if your under the truck facing the back of the gas tank the leak will be coming from the uppper right hand corner about 2 to 3 inches above the tank..
now from what i see its to skinny steal lines such as the ones that connect to the calipper.. now can anyone telll me if theres a kit sold for that particular part of the system and how much it would cost?? im having a mechanic come and fix it for me so i dont want to get shafted you know? also what would they have to remove to anything such as the gastank or anything? again i just dont wnt the guy to come and make it seem like its some huge job to make extra cash...thanks guys ny answers will be highly appreciated as yousoule

It sounds like you are describing a leak from one of the hard brake lines?

They frequently rust where one of the clamps are that hold them in place to the frame rail. I've had it happen before, but it didn't leak, it just burst one time when I had to jam on the brakes.

And from that experience I found it is not wise to use the compression coupler fittings to repair, they are too restrictive. It is best to replace the entire section of line.

I had a break right around where I think you're talking about... And mine burst. Luckily I was just avoiding hitting a raccoon, not a person or a car...

Replace the line.
