I've had my 97 4Runner for about 2 years. I noticed from the very beginning that there was almost always a pulsation in the brake pedal, and it didn't matter if it was a fast stop or a slow speed stop. I had a brake job done, a rather complete brake job at that. The pulsation was still there. Recently, its gotten worse. I replaced the rotors and pads, no change. Now the problem seems to be worsening. I'll apply the brakes and feel and HEAR the pulsation, all the way to a stop, even if it was a slow un-intense stop. I have also recently noticed the same sound when coasting, and can feel and hear a grinding sound. So I started to think bearnings might be shot. But then, when I jack it up, and even use the tire as leverage, there is no movement, like there normally would be with bad bearnings. But I can't think of what else it could be. Do any of you have any ideas? Sometimes the effect is barely noticeable. Other times it feels down right dangerous, as if the bearings are being ground to powder. Please help.
