Brake replacement, ABS question

Guys, i have been reading at some websites abt the brake pad replacement and a word of caution was thrown in by some guy when it comes to replacing the brakepads on vehicles with ABS (something to do to prevent damaging the ABS system), any advice is appreaciated, also everywhere they mentioned about only one piston that needs to be adjusted but here we are talking abt 4 pistons, does 4runner have 4 pistons ?

The pad choice is the same for vehicles with or without ABS brakes. There is nothing special about replacing pads. I personally like the OEM pads.

The only thing that is different is when it comes to bleeding the brakes, which most people do not need to do.

Yes all 4th gen runners have four piston calipers up front. The pistons must be driven back into the cylinders before installing a new thicker pad, or else it will not fit. I personally remove my calipers for doing this. I use the old pad, in place, and squeeze the pistons back in with a large c-clamp.
