Brakes Rotors Deposits

Ok, I searched and didn't come up with much info. If I missed it, send me a link.

After towing a heavy ski boat (5k lbs) my brakes have been "pulsing". From what I've read, it's not really that the rotors are warped, rather that the pads have overheated and left deposits on the rotors.
SO...Rather than turning the rotors everytime I pull a heavy load, I'm wanting to get a good rotor/pad combination that won't leave deposits like the OEM pads I have.
I read on a recent thread that ceramic pads do well with the heat and don't leave deposits, but are not as "sticky" as other pads.
Is there a happy median somewhere? I would like my ATRAC to work well, have a sticky pad, and not risk the pad leaving deposits. Any suggestions? Is that just wishful thinking? Let me know some of your combinations of rotors/pads.

In general OE pads are the 'happy medium'. IMHO, in the case of the T4R the OE's are arguably a little too sticky and leave deposits. The next step would be to move to the ceramics.

As far as ceramics' dowsides you mentioned: I agree but the question is how much 'real world' effect will it have. I suspect the overall loss of ATRAC performance will be so minimal you won't really notice it.


Look at the EBC stuff, it's generally well respected and pretty good. They focus on the pads depositing on the rotors etc. Brake Pads and Brake Rotors for Cars Maybe the 7000's on the front and 6000's on the rear might be just what you're looking for...

I'm leaning towards ceramic as it does seem to be a well rounded pad. Not sure what brand yet. I guess I shouldn't be to worried about the ATRAC performance, you're probably right that it wouldn't be noticable. I would rather have a pad that tollerates high heat better. Any other opinions out there?? Are "sport" rotors worth looking into?
