Brakes

Brakes are very squishy unless I pump the brakes several times while stopped. Brake fluid looks fine, no leaking anywhere that I can see. Any ideas?

Once I've pumped the brakes at standstill several times, they are fine for the rest of the time the car is on. They aren't always squishy, it seems to be significantly worse when it's hot outside.

Truck is a 2003 SR5 AWD.

When was the last time you bled them? A good first step would be to take 4 or 5 pumps out of each caliper, and see how the fluid looks. That might help. Could be other things, of course, but that should be your first move.

check the rubber hoses for bulging. rubber hoses get old :happens:

They were bled back in late June. Maybe the guy who did them didn't bleed them properly.

It could be, but it's not hard to bleed brakes. If you're confident they're bled properly, then it could be a bad master cylinder, if the lines aren't leaking or bulging. If the lines are truly shot, you'll be able to see them bulge when someone mashes the brakes.

That is entirely possible... if that is the case, you will need to have a scantool driven bleed procedure as there may be air trapped in the brake booster system.
