Braking and shaking smh

Ok so I had a 60 mph shake on both the 4runner and the gx470. I used the brake rebed method on both. It worked fine on the gx but I have done it twice on the 4runner and I have a weird result.

Shaking in the steering wheel (bad) at moderate braking at highway speeds. No pulsation at low speeds and we. I brake hard (like almost lock them up) no shaking what's ever.

Could this be something other that that rotors? I have 170k on the odo and feel like I need to do a bushing and balljoint change. Also it feels like I have a blow shock in the rear. When I go over bumpy roads the side to side action is crazy, almost scary.

Look at your front/rear brake pads. As for the rear shocks, see any leaks? Get um looked at.

Hey I just got a 2016 SR5 and I have sort of a situation with the brakes. Trying to find out if this is normal as this is my 1st truck purchase:

When the brakes are applied I feel what can only be described as a "tension shake". Not to be confused with the ABS pumping/pulsing when hard breaking is applied on slick roads. I know what that feels like as I have had that system engage on occasion in other car I have driven. This feeling is more like if you were to hold a rubber band in both hands and you let it droop in the middle then you straighten it out by pulling hands apart and it vibrates and then stops. It happens when braking from the car moving and it also happens when stopped at a light and if you are stopped briefly at say a fast food drive thru. With foot on brake you feel nothing, then you feel the tingling/vibrating then is stops, then it tingles/vibrates again in say 30sec intervals. This continues till you remove foot from brake and drive off. Once again, I don't know if this is normal for a truck but I don't think it should be especially from a brand new truck.

By the way the truck is in normal gear mode. No 4 wheel drive or any other mode.

That's strange as hell. Best advice anybody can give you, take it into the shop and hope the dealership can replicate it.

I had the same thing happen to my 2011 4runner and was told by my brake mechanic that it was the rotors on the front brakes He stated that Toyota removed metal on th rotors in order to save weight even tho it amounts to almost nothing. The only rotor that he has had no problems with for the 4runner and Tundra are the Cryo Rotors (Frozen). He stated that they are a step below the their racing rotors and and are heated and then frozen for strength. He also used Hauk Lt Pads which are not ceramic but they stop great and don't throw dust on the wheels. The rotors are expensive but it came with a 150,000 mile warranty and have performed great.
