That's a lot of extra weight. If you have the money definitely get some bigger brakes.

You know it is a lot of extra weight, but it also depends on the tire. My 33" Mud Grapplers weigh almost as much or more than some 35" tires. It definitely makes the brakes fade faster, but for me that just means I pay more attention and stop further back at traffic lights. In a emergency situation (stomping on the brakes one time quickly) the brakes are still going to do their job and stop the car quickly. It's when you get into hard braking a lot in a short amount of time that they will fade quickly (mojave). 35's will be fine with the stock brakes, but if you want to throw down a minimum of $1K for an upgraded brake system I am not stopping you. What are you running 35s on?

You sure a brake upgrade would cost him over $1,000? If he got a really nice set I could see that, but just getting larger rotors shouldn't cost $1,000.
I'm not sure I understand the question. If you mean what vehicle, it's my 4Runner. If you mean my wheel, they are 20" enkei's. If you meant what tire, they are 35x12.50x20 Mud Grapplers.
I also stop further back a traffic lights, but it's those emergency situations that I'm a little weary of :/
I was kind of thinking the same thing. But if I get larger rotors, that means larger calipers too (otherwise the rotors are pointless) and larger pads. Maybe that would throw it into the 1K range...
What do you guys thing of wheeler's stuff? I'm pretty sure they are the same size, but the rotors you can get drilled, slotted, or both. And they have a few different flavors of pads to choose from.

Sorry, yea I was wondering what vehicle and tire. The Mud Grapplers are heavier than a lot of tires. Exactly, bigger rotors would not cost 1k but that would be pointless. A true big brake kit would be in upwards of 1k++. You could always just get a nice set of regular size rotors (cross drilled and slotted) and a nice set of pads. Emergency situations the bigger brakes, I don't think, are going to help out very much. Really those big brake kits are meant to handle fading that comes from repetitive hard braking with factory brakes (racing/mojave running). This is just purely my 2 cents though, if your down to spend the money it would be a cool writeup on here and probably look pretty good (you would have to show them off by painting them red or yellow!)
Ya no worries. And I was kind of thinking along those lines with the wheeler's off road stuff. That's what I'll end up doing when these go out. And i'll for sure go yellow on 'em!
