Brand New 2011 Down the ALCAN

I will be transferring out of Alaska in two weeks. I will be taking my brand new 2011 4Runner down the ALCAN highway. I am a little apprehensive to do so but I know as long as I don't tailgate anyone and take it slow I should be fine. I also have the dealer installed Digishield on so I am hoping that will protect my T4R. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Hi, I literally just got back from doing that trip, just two weeks ago. I did it in my 2011 sr5 and it was my first road trip in the new unit. I drove north from Edmonton through Dawson creek and fort Nelson, on to white horse and then north up to Dawson, up to the arctic circle and then back through the top of the world highway through tok and onto Haines where I fought the ferry to Juneau and on to prince Rupert bc, then highway 16 all the way back through Jasper to Edmonton. What a trip! Notes: the Alaska marine highway to prince Rupert will bypass all of the roughest roads. The roughest road ( other than the dempster highway) was just south east of tok on the Canadian side. Lots of bumps on the road. But the runner just ate them up at 80-100 kph. Other than that, anything from Whitehorse and south is perfectly good riding. Just go the speed limit and enjoy the scenery and the ride. I know I did.
