Brand New Audio Setup

Over the past few weeks I've been piecing together a new audio system, new h/u, new component speakers, new amp, new sub and new custom box. Most importantly I dumped the TomTom, aka DumDum. I finally wrapped it up on Saturday. Now on to the pics. The sound is lightyears better than factory; you can actually hear some definition to the sounds and there are highs and lows! Should've upgraded a long time ago.

And thanks to ChipG and Gyoter for posting photos of their knockoff Stealthboxes for giving me the motivation to build mine!

Great job that looks great. Where did you mount your amps? I currently have a huge box in my trunk and im wanting to go to a more space saving setup like this. They are mounted to the back of my rear seats. Thanks.

Thanks. I've got a 5 channel amp that I mounted under the passenger seat; the power supply runs down the driver's side floor and the RCAs run down the passenger side floor.

A couple of folks were interested in the dimensions of the sub box. Here ya'll go! FYI, for owners without the Double Decker Shelf system the box can be deeper by a couple of inches (~7" deep) and not overhang the wheel well.

super clean install..i love how so many 4runner owners understand the importance of saving space in the trunk with these stealthbox installs.

Thank you! Most of us buy a SUV for the Utility portion of it, so why would you fill the cargo area with stereo equipment if you don't have to?

I'm thinking of replicating your stealth box. I don't have an amp or subwoofer in my current setup. I have a kenwood headunit with built in amp and the factory speakers. I want to add a subwoofer to get better sound/bass. Is your amp powering your front/rear speakers and your sub?

I'm not building the box myself, I'm having an car stereo shop build it. I like the idea of the separate box because if I ever sell I can keep the box and build it into my next 4runner. Or, if I need more more in the cargo area, I can just unhook it and take it out with ease.

Any info helps. awesome setup.

Armando
