Brand new & confused

Because I owned a 79 FJ land cruiser I tried to duplicate my youth & purchase a new FJ, boy what a hassle. Foorrgeetaaabooutitt the FJ. I am now a proud owner of a 2010 4 Runner SR5. I couldn't go for the trail edition, you have to put on the brakes at some point of the purchase process. Now the confusing part, bear with me. Question, Can I install a rear locking differential in the future? Is it an a electrical connection or more that that?

You'll have to replace the whole rear axle and wire the electrical goods.
