What a mess.
Nobody who wants to be a politician is smart enough for the job.
I see lots of "OH, his political career is over, blah blah blah, he's such a bully, blah blah". F**KING you know what?? That's probably what this country needs.
As far as the investigation into the "We are stronger than the storm" ad campaigns (how they were used and were more expensive than another ad firm's proposed ads) in which he and his family(?) star in them. I don't see the problem with that. Its shows the LEADER of a state that just got its ass handed to them by mother nature. Christie is an icon whether you like him or not. I think he NEEDED to be on those ads. But, all this (investigation) is pure political bullshit.
I hate politics. HATE.
He seems to be a pragmatist. He doesn't appear to care (too much) about ruffling some republican feathers. That's good enough for me.
I'd vote for him for Pres.
You're ok with using Federal relief funds to fund state-specific tourism campaigns? We don't need another mob-boss president.

Actually that use (misuse) of the money is much better than a lot of things tax dollars are used for. When my dog has to poop she goes into her poo poo dance and starts twirling around. Thanks to our government I now know that my dog is not crazy stupid, she is just aligning herself to the magnetic lines of the earth.
I figured you of all people would appreciate this kind of technical information. So did you try it yet? Did you bring out a high powered magnet with you when walking her to see if you can screw up her magnetic heading while taking a dump?

At this point I haven't seen any evidence directly tying Christi to the closures other than the fact that it was his team that ordered the shutdown. There has been no smoking gun testimony or email saying he gave the order. I think he will walk away bruised but still in the game.
As far as the person who ordered the lane closures.... I'm not sure if a crime was committed but IF any laws were broken then they should be indited on criminal charges.

Yes, I don't see a problem with that. Fed government "gives" money to states when in crisis (disaster). Ad campaigns were designed to get people to get back to the Jersey Shore and spend money. I consider the ad campaign valid and part of a plan to get Jersey back on it's feet. Obama administration ok'ed it from what I understand.
Alrighty then, I stated my opinion. Not going to get into debate regarding politics (trying to politely bow out of this thread)

I don't subscribe to the thought that people were not going to return to the jersey shore - he purposefully put himself in those ads to further his political visibility and he did it on the taxpayers dime, costing more money than it otherwise would have. He wasn't a good steward of the money that could have been used for more visitor impact infrastructure or improvements is all I'm saying. People were going to come back because those businesses down there were going to get the word out themselves - it didn't require captain donuts propaganda to advance it along.
But as said above, it could have been worse.
So you HATE politics but you follow politics closely and you have strong political opinions. Hmmmm?? Perhaps you should choose a different hobby or follow something else. Just saying .......
Anyway, I don't understand why you are jumping down my throat.
