Hey all,

I was one of the first person in the US to get my hands on the REVO! The REVO has a neat/unique tread design that should make it great in the rain.

I had it on for about 4000 miles. When i rotated them, i had a strange vibration in the steering wheel. Of course, it could have been due to the inferior balancing machine that my local shop used...or the lack of the Haweka adaptor. Anyway, to make a long story short, my local tire shop could not balance them correctly on my 4runner. Could the tires been defective?? Perhaps...my steering wheel was vibrating pretty badly.

HOWEVER, after reading positive feedback from owners of the REVOs, i think my problem above is isolated...or the lack of proper adaptor.

So the closest size available in the revo is 265 70 17. This is a little taller than my H/Ts, so some speedo adjustment would have to be made...also, will the spare fit?

Any experience anyone?

I don't have an '03 4Runner. However, on my '02 4Runner, the up-sized tire will not fit with the stock hitch.

Guess I'd just have to measure.

Any idea whether the speedo adjustment is a big deal?

Oh yeah, sorry about that...totally went over my head on that one! :bonk: :duh:

At 60 mph, the difference in speedo is about 2-3 mph.

Got the REVOs, love em. Measured the spare space and it looks like there is plenty of room in my '03 (my 5th tire is on order).

265/75-16 on 4Gen?

So, to get the Revos with an LT load rating I see that I would have to upsize to the 265/75-16. The LT load rated Revos aren't available in the stock 265/70-16 size.

Any non-lifted 4Gen owners upsized to these? Any rubbing problems? Did you upsize the spare also?

Can someone who's installed the Revo's on an '03 or '04 Limited V8 give me a definitive answer as to whether or not they fit all around with no rubbing, and if the spare fits -- I won't accept a mismatched spare size, or underinflated spare, etc. If all 5 won't fit, I'll stick to stock size. I have the 265-70-17 REVO and there is no rubbing at all and the spare fits. The spare does touch the Hiiden Hitch ball mount but it's no problem. I could shave a little of the ball mount down but again, it isnt a problem. No rubbing, no rattles.

Did you ever get the 265/70/17 Revos on your stock rig? Am also wondering about the upsizing issue.

I understand they make these now in the stock size 265/65/17. They have a bigger tread and weigh 3 lb's less then the 265/70/17 size. You would have better handling with the stock size. JMHO
