Bridgestone Revos or Destination A/T ?

You will hear tons of praise on this forum for the Revos. I still have my stock Dunlop AT20 with only 8K on them and I hate them. All the research I have done shows me that the destination a/t would be better for me, 85% road, 15% dirt roads. And they are almost half the price, I see that doesnt mean anything to you but to most it does. Do a search for the destination a/t, I think I few people here have them but I havent seen any recent updates on their performance. Go to Tire Rack and see the review for yourself.
 
Every review has it's pro/cons. I'm on my second set of REVO's , decent on road and off . I was almost tempted to get the Firestone , but decided on what I knew had had experience with.

I was tossed up between:
BFG AT
Michelin AT2
GY SA
Revo
Nitto TG
FS AT's

Had to make a quick decision and told the wife to take it and have REVO's put back on since I knew what I was getting. It would be nice to try others but at what expense if I hated them...lol. The only one's I've had before from this list were 15 set's of BFG's and 1 set of REVO's .

They may not be for everyone , but only you can make that call.
 
Unfortunately, you're in the same boat as me - Limited Owners. Just keep in mind that you'll have to either get a bigger profile/smaller tire or smaller profile/bigger tire to keep the speedo accurate. This is a concern for me as I would like to stay as true to accurate as possible, but YMMV.

I've been battling the tire thing too for about a year now. I was set on getting the SA, but definitely the Destination ATs look more appealing. If the Revo's made a size that would fit perfectly, I'd jump on them. I went through two sets on my 00 JGC that I had before the 4R and absolutely loved them!
 
Since you don't off-road, why don't you get Michelin Cross-Terrain, Bridgestone Dueler H/L, Goodyear Fortera, etc.?? These are quieter options than what you mentioned. However, IF i had to pick between the two and cost no option, then i would definitely go with REVOs. REVOs is the rich cousin of Firestone A/T...so, why not get the rich cousin??
 
Guess I will go down to Bridgestone once again and look and ask more questions. I have an appointment Tuesday morning 7 am for new tires and I have to make up my mind. Which ever way I go it will make a huge difference to the H/T 840s.BTW I'm going to stay with the stock size.

Good luck to you... I know I am primarily a road driver in Florida. Rain performance is my 1st priority. Noise and ride harshness are 2nd. I was blown away with how good the Revos were on my Titan. For as aggressive as they are they're very quiet and smooth. The only people I've ever heard bash a Revo should've purchased BFG K/O's or M/T's in the 1st place.
 
I'm going to go with the Destination A/T in the stock size. The Revos are more aggressive then I really need. Tire rack has these tires at the top of there A/T rating charts. I have also done different searches and seen positive comments from other sites.
The difference in the two tires maybe I will buy myself a GPS.

:bigok: That's a solid choice and I like your logic about a GPS:biggrin2: Now which GPS??? That's almost harder than tires!

One thing I may add that has never 4 happened to any of my ALL terrain tires , they have stayed in balance for the complete 51k miles I put them . with in the last 2k miles the ride started to get worse , but they were worn as hell. Never had a flat ( which IMO is pure luck with any tire ) .

I do drive at high speeds at times and have been absolutely perfect and true with no vibration al ALL on my OLD SET. Well I've have a new set put on about a month ago , and 4 days or so ago I did a 15 min. 80-100mph run and they were perfect an no wobble vibration at all.

Granted I know these are high speed tires and DO NOT recommend this as you could be injured or killed.

GPS -Christmas is coming and I have to help my wife pick out a gift for me that's the least I can do! I'm helpful that way.

Falls
If I can get at least 50,000 miles out of the 50,000 mile warrenty I can accept that and I dont plan on going over 75-80 mph. My sports cars is something else.

This high speed was not a joy ride. I was done for a law reason and was escorted being escorted by the police. Otherwise my driving is 55-65/70 ish on the freeway. I'm not a crazy driver , there I times ( a few ) that I need to , I am also a trained driver.
