Broke a wheel stud...

Can I get a new one in just removing the drum rotor (is that what it's called? Literally, my first car ever with drum brakes)? Or is it a more involved deal than that?

On the upside, I got a good amount of air out of the brake lines and the brakes feel great. And I replaced the faded center caps with new ones. Can't believe how much better the car looks for $30 (and how cheap parts are for these cars!) Vette went from daily driver to being driven 4 miles last week. ound:

Ha! Its just a drum. The 'pads' are called shoes.

You should be able to replace the stud once the drum is off the hub.

Hopefully it comes off easily... it can be rusted on or there can be a lip that the shoes catch on as the drum is coming off. Rust is dealt with in the normal way (penetrating fluid, bolts in the threaded holes to push it off, etc.). There is an adjuster wheel you can access from the back to loosen the shoes to pull the drum off.
