broke one of front bumper bolts during install

the bottommost bolt on the side with the 3 bolts (and there 1 on the other side of flange) i brokeloose the inside bolts and then was taking the bottom bolt off on other side and undercoating (bangs head) was on the threads and it led to me snapping the bolt off. should i continue removing all the other 7 bolts (hopefully without breaking any) and then drill out the broken stud and just replace with a large bolt for bumper install? these appear to be fixed studs that the new bumpers attach to.

You're talking about the 14mm socket bolts that hold the factory crash bar to the frame rails, correct?

Try the others carefully and see where it gets you. Are you on an aftermarket bumper?

If memory suits me well, these are pressed in studs from the back side of the flange. When brining mine back to life after a front end hit, I ended up spinning one of these loose, we just tacked it solid while welding in the radiator support.
If you can get the others off you should be able to just beat the broken stud out and replace it with an appropriate sized bolt/nut.

When there's rust or heavy paint on the threads and you try to remove a nut the rust or paint gets jammed into the threads between the nut and stud causing the nut to jam, try removing the rust and or paint off the threads first with a wire brush or wire wheel in a drill, and then when removing the nut back it off and if it binds or gets tight, tighten it a bit and hit it with the wire brush again to remove any debris jamming it up, rinse and repeat until you get all the nuts off.

A little bit of heat from a propane torch may also help in conjunction with the above mentioned wire brushing in getting the nuts removed.
