Broken engine cover bolt. what to do

so I broken one of the engine cover bolts today, wondering if the cover actually mean something for our 4.7 V8 engine?
the bolt seems like it was weld on a metal arm

Its purely cosmetic. Remove the entire thing for a weight savings.

When I had my timing belt done on my '03, they "forgot" to put the cover back on. I noticed it a few days later and went back. I waited for 15 minutes for them to put the cover back on because the bolt was broken and the tech had to drill a new hole.
