I pulled off my brush guard and tail light guards tonight to sand down and repaint. Any suggestions on the type of paint to use or any helpful hints??

i would look into powder coat, or a bed liner type material if it were me, spray paint isn't as durable as those options.

you could use a 2 stage paint. by that i mean base and clear it shouldent cost to much considering you doing the prep work

I would recommend using truck bed spray on bedliner for the material. Its tough, rough and doesnt scratch or chip easy. Paint just doesnt work as good when you deal with gravel from freeways or off roading. Plus, the spray on bedliner resists rust very good if you live in salty areas.
