Brush Guards

Thinking of getting a brush guard. Wondering which one is good and a good value, and easy to install, also where to buy from.

Looking for a black one, dont really need stainless.

Painted (powder coated) guards will rust in no time.

I too was also thinking of getting a brush guard but I'm not a big fan of chrome. I have a black 2005 4runner SR5 and I would prefer the brush guard to be black as well.

I noticed Koz stated that the powder coated ones will rust pretty quickly. I live in Los Angeles where we rarely get any rain. Do you still see a problem with that? I sure people on the East Coast may get salt on their brush guard during the winter but should it really be a problem in So Cal? Is there any coating that be applied to prevent rusting?

There are black powder coated stainless guards that will not rust. I think the T&H products are stainless.

I checked out the T&H one on AutoAnything.com but they didn't have a picture of it on a 4runner. Anyone have a picture of it on a 4runner? They have a picture of it on a Lexus but I don't like the look of it too much. I'm wondering if the Manik one is rust-proof as well. I noticed part of it was black and part of it was stainless steel.

I had a powder-coated Manik on my Tundra for about three years before it got some surface rust and I drive on the salt-laced streets of Michigan. I took it back when it started to rust and the place I got it from gave me a whole new one for free under warranty.

When I sold my Tundra last year for a T4R, I ended up with a WAAG largely based on rec's for other members. I'm happy with it because it is much more structureally sound than the Manik. I've had it less than a year so not sure about rust, but so far, so good.
