BS Being Spewed Forth by Ford

This is akin to the marketing gimmick that Chrysler used back during the 1980s. They would let 'customers' shopping for cars look at, sit in and then drive different vehicles. One would be a Chrysler product (Dodge Omni, Plymouth Horizon, Dodge Aries, Plymouth Reliant, etc., etc.) and the other would be something similar in size & price that was made by Toyota, possibly a Corolla, Cressida, Tercel or even the little Starlet.

Their survey showed that 60 percent of the people actually preferred the Chrysler product to the import. Well, then what happened? Did buyers ignore their own preference and buy the Toyotas anyhow?
:bash:

Now, how many of you are old enough to remember when front-wheel-drive was seen as something 'new and innovative'?
:p

You mean when "cab forward" design was the cool thing?? :D

The all-time greatest has to be the late-1970s Chrysler Cordoba with Genuine Corinthian Leather -- as hawked by Ricardo Montalban in Chrysler's TV advertisements.

Okay, so I am old. At least some of us actually know what a carburetor is and that "lean burn" had nothing to do with losing weight.

Ah, yes, Mr. Roarke (and Tattoo). Wasn't Corinthian Leather that horrendous maroon color? My dad almost bought one, but instead went for the AMC Eagle :bash:

(sorry to get OT)

owen4runner's thread really hits the nail on the head. Anybody can pay somebody to make a survey say what they want it to say. But JD Power is a respected, well known name in the surveying game. For me, as I am sure with a lot of people, JD Power's surveys will carry a little more weight than this fly-by-night company that Ford commissioned to do their survey.

On the topic of commercials another one comes to mind from a tv service provider: 90% of statistics can be made to say anything. . .50% of the time:p

I did not delete any post of yours that had content...i deleted a few posts by you after either being owned or proven 100% wrong because you were whinning like a little girl (see above) with PMS. See, you just made me break my own forum rules. Oh well...it's a good day out. :)

BTW, why break the silence now?? Oh wait, is it because you thought that we have forgotten about your past, koz??

Hmmm...remind me, aren't you the one that is crying like a little girl now??? :p

Here is the thread that MM referred to: http://www.toyota-4runner.org/showthread.php?threadid=25045&perpage=15&pagenumber=3

As everyone can see, this guy started to preach to other members on this forum without much facts or thinking behind his preaching. :bash: And if you notice, after MM was proven wrong, he goes into silent mode...his last post here before the above was on 12/22/07. :p It always makes me scratch my head...if you don't like it here, then why are you here???

So, yeah, it is deja vu for you everytime that you type something on this forum...because with your dumbass preaching, i will always be there to correct you. Consider it a service...and it's free. :)

Let me guess...silent mode again??:biggrin2:
