Bud Built Skid Plate or Armor?

Anyone use Bud Built's skid plate or armor?
They have a good rep in the FJ world. I would like to assume the same here. And, they are somewhat local to me, maybe an hour away.

Specifically, I have a 2023 TRD ORP on deposit, should be here next week, 10/17-10/21 ish. Barcelona Red with XP Predator pkg. I plan to change the silver front/rear valances for the TRD Pro's black ones.

Black skid or Red? Bud Built sell both. Pics, thoughts?

BB is good and has been around a long time. I went with black simply because I wouldn't want colored skids. Maybe green or something.

I'll say that the BB skids will sometimes need spacing between the frame mount and the skid. I had to stack 4 washers on some of the mounts because the legs were too short. At some point I'll get proper spacers.

BudBuilt 3/8" Steel Skids

I have had BudBuilt steel skids since 2015. They do what they are supposed to do. I thought about a bright blue, but went with black as i didn't want to gamble if something other than black would look stupid. 7 years later I'm glad I went with plain black.

I installed a full set of Bud Built skids in 2016. They are excellent design and have a very functional oil filter change door thing. I was using a Fumito (?) oil drain plug valve which was fine with BB, but switched to the suction oil extractor technique which is better. I did the aluminum gas tank and transfer case skid with steel for the front two.
