Budbuilt hidden winch plate?

If you buy everything aftermarket I guess $350 isn't too steep. But you could fab the same thing or have someone do it for a fraction of the cost. Same goes for the bumper, but it's simply a forum and my opinion. Good luck.

Some will argue $350 is a lot. But based on some of the local 'Hack' fabricators around me it was a no brainer. If I had the skill or access to a quality fabricator it might be a different story. But for me right now, it was the best option.

update: BudBuilt e-mailed me today to let me know i should have my winch plate by the weekend. They welded it yesterday and sent it to the powder coater today. Just waiting for tracking info.

i will attempt to document the install as from what i hear there are no instructions included (at least that is what the Gen5 guys claim).

Please snap some pics before install. I'm curious as to what the assembly looks like since they only have the one installed picture on their website.

Sure.

Speculation is it weighs around 25-30#, so there is a good chunk of steel & welding there. Budbuilt usually overbuilds items, so I have high expectations for this. I just hope my winch fits ok.

I made my own, get winch platefor jeep yj fits between frame rails on 4th gen. Make mounting plates from quarter inch plate. Roller fair lead lines up with center of bumper. Pic in my garage.will get underwood photos if anybody has questions.
