so my buddy came back today and got a new 2000 runner, 4wd, bought it in new jersey, has 99,0000 miles got it for about 8,000 looks really clean, one thing is though is that the owner was an old lady and had her dog painted on the passenger and drivers door, does anyone have any advice on getting this off, its raised above the paint, also for the center hub caps...just some grey spray paint to fix those? thanks

thanks for the info was trying to avoid going to the body shop and spending the extra money, but that sounds like the best solution thanks

might be able to use some paint thinner or something along those lines on a cloth and gently wipe it away till it all comes off, just dont get over zealous about it and get into the actual paint. Then just polish that area and give it a good coat of wax. This is the method ive always used to take pinstripes off of trucks and always works for me.

trail we might try that, if that doesnt work to well then take it to a body shop, hopefully he will MOD it like i want to ;)

the old lady started MODing it herself, first mod was the hand painted pugs next was the BFG's, then i think she called it quits, also another weird thing, when you pull the gas lever the hood pops, well you pull the hood lever the gas lid opens.... easy fix? or what needs to be done... maybe the old lady considered that a MOD:hatsoff:

Pull the panel off i think the cord just pops off, through a slot on the back of the lever, someone prolly mixed them up.

i'd try some Goof-Off on that paint man my buddy spray painted his whole jeep in matte black or bed liner or something i cant remember and he decided he hated it and used the Goof Off to get it back to the original color

That looks like it was just brushed on probably an enamel paint, something like Goo Gone, or Mineral Spirits could eat away that paint, but not your cars paint. Also look into an "Eraser Wheel" Put the wheel into the chuck of your drill and it will remove spray paint and what ever else. You can get them at Autozone for like 15 bucks

Dog? Pugs are NOT dogs.

Agree on the wetsand. Shouldn't take too long since it isn't that large.
