Bug shields - SR5 vs. Limited

I have been looking for a bug shield for my '06 4 Runner. The guy in the part department says he has one for a Limited.

I know the grills are different on the Limited, but would that make any difference how they fit on a SR5.

Also, do you think it would look any worse?

I am going to look at it this week.

i say if there are diff prices for limited/sport/ and sr5, then that guy doesn't know what he's doing.

it should be the same bug shield for all classes.

Wow, the guy is either not informed on his Toyota accessories or he is trying to squeeze a few extra dollars out of you. The shield will look good on any trim 4Runner imo. The only difference between the grills are SR5 has a chrome, Sport smoked chrome, and Limited color keyed. There is absolutely NO size difference.

When I bought the bug shield for my 2006 4Runner 2 weeks ago my parts guy didn't ask what model 4Runner I owned. I don't see how the model of your 4Runner would make any difference as the only difference in the grills in the various 2006 4Runner models is the color.

Thanks for the posts. That's what I was thinking, but wasn't quite sure.

From the other threads I've read, it appears that its not too hard to put them on. Even a novice like me can do it.

I put on my bug shield today. It was easier than I thought.

I must say I like it.

I lost a bolt. The wind picked up today and blew one away, so I will have to pick one up some time.

The same thing happened to me (dropped a bolt - I should have used a blanket over the engine as the instructions advised) when I installed my bug shield, so I went to Home Depot and bought a bolt and washer to replace the one I dropped.

I was at my dealer this morning and asked the parts guy for a replacement bolt and he didn't have one, but offered to order the hardware kit for my bug shield. I declined... No telling how much the kit costs...

Hey David, which stealer did you get you bug guard from here in ATL? I'm up in Kennesaw, and bought my 4Runner from Marrieta Toyota. Been wanting to get one, figure if I need to haggle might as well hit up the same one.

I bought my truck and bug shield from Marietta Toyota. Definitely try to haggle with the parts guys over the price when you call. They seem to be good guys and willing to discount the price on parts. Good luck!
