Stage One and Two of Three Stage Gauge upgrade
Stage one was redoing my ScanGauge.....

Stage Two was upgrading my stereo and adding the Subaru Gauge Pack.

First, when you buy the stereo, pick up an adapter harness for a Toyota (It plugs into the original wiring harness and has the color coded wires you will \ can butt splice into the harness that comes with the new stereo).
Remove original stereo and keep the mounting brackets (on the left and right). When you put the Single Din Stereo on top of the Gauge Pack, the brackets will match perfectly. Use the same screws to mount the brackets to the stereo and Gauge Pack together.
The color codes on the new wire harness adapter and the harness that comes with the stereo match (Green goes to green, purple goes to purple and so on.) If you want to double check, check the instructions on the harness and the stereo.
Four wires for the Gauge Pack. Constant 12V, ACC 12V, Ground, and Illumination.

I tied these in with the butt splices on the wiring harness.
As for the sensor, I just mounted it to the metal "tab" on the front bumper that has the Vin Number sticker on it.
This thread has instructions on how to use the settings.

Only problem I have is when I turn my lights on, the gauge pack lights flash. If my lights are off, the illumination is perfect. So this weekend, I'll check my wiring and see why it's doing what it's doing. Also, I need a trim piece to fill in the gaps on the side. I have those because my trim was cut back some several years ago.
Stage Three I want to add a second ScanGauge to my setup.... I'll update when that happens.

Awesome 4runner. Its allways nice to see a AK 4 runner. Theres not many up here that are upgraded. I'm in wasilla and im the only one that I know of.
How much did CBI charge for shipping up here?

have you sourced a decent Y-splitter cable for the OBD II port?

Update on the Subaru Gauge Install... If you read my post, I stated that when I turned my lights on the Guage would start flashing.....
So I was thinking this when I installed it. The purple wire is "Illumination". I wasn't sure if I should hook it to the "Illumination" wire or the "Dimmer" wire on the stereo harness. I took a chance and did the "Illumination" and that was the wrong wire. Yesterday I separated those wires and turned my lights on, and didn't have any flickering. I didn't hook it to the Dimmer wire, just because I never dim my dash lights.
So the three wires you have to do is the constant 12 volt, the 12 volt ACC, and ground. Use the purple if you want to be able to dim them at any time.

Added the stereo trim piece today. Took a bit of trimming and fitting, but it came out pretty good. Thanks GottaBeTRD !!!

Upgraded Lift... Again.
OK, Rear end was sagging with the 891s (even with the spacers) so I found some 861s on Ebay (new in box). Picked up from Toytech the Bilstein shocks, their panhard bar, and the brake line. Got them all installed yesterday. I tried for about 10 minutes to get the top nut off the shocks and then gave up and just cut them off... So no Comfort Shocks for sale. The rest went pretty well.
Before and after measurements.
Before from ground to wheel well: 37 3/4"
From hub to wheel well: 22 3/4"
After from ground to wheel well: 40"
From hub to wheel well: 25"
So I gained just over 2" from my 891s plus the 10mm spacers to the 861s. As for comfort, holy cow!!!! It feels like a new truck! I'm not kidding on that one bit. The old setup was very hard. Every little pothole or even the ribs on the side of the road use to shake the whole truck. Now, seriously... hardly feel them!
I'm going to start pricing tires now to fill the larger gap. 255\85-16s I'm sure.

Bad news on the two ScanGauge installation idea. I emailed them and asked for input and this is the response I got back:
Unfortunately, with the ISO protocol you cannot run more than one ScanGauge at a time. I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.
So I'm going to ship off my old SG and get it upgraded and then sell it. Sure wish my idea would've worked. I was really looking forward to having 8 gauges, not just 4.

New Tires. 255-85x16 Toyo Open Country M/Ts. So far, I love the feel. Not loud on the road, run so smooth and doesn't grab at the ruts in the road. It will take a bit to get used to the narrower tire (looks wise), but I don't need the wide tires for what I like to do. Everything feels better compaired to my Nittos that I had before.

Its been almost a year since you installed CBI rear bumper. Whats you're opinion on it? Pros Cons, rate from 1-10. Ten being best. I'm liking the rear tire carrier more and more. Thanks!

Wow, Incredible rig! Love the black paint. I'm really tempted to buy a few gallons of black plasti-dip and see whats it's like to have a murdered out runner.
