Building a Sleeping Platform - Latch Question

I am in the process of building a sleeping platform. I just ordered the ball bearing rollers (22" that support 100lbs) from Amazon, and they should be here Thursday. I also want to buy a locking latch like the one in RamRod's Sleeping Platform build.

Here are the pictures from his Flickr of the build.

I'm basically trying to do the same thing - today I built the frame (approximately 36" in depth, 39" in width, and 10.5" in height). I am going to use 3/4" plywood for the top of the platform as well as the drawer inside (and the front of the drawer).

Right now I am looking at these two latches on Amazon, and am pretty set on this or a similar style:

Buyers Products L8816 Folding T-Handle Latch

Buyers Products 8000SSL Stainless Steel Mini Size Tear Drop Style Locking Latch

So I will have about a 3/4" thick "front" to this drawer, and want to see which of these would work (or if someone on here has a different suggestion). Didn't want to order it, spend $20, and realize I can't use it.

Here's my progress so far! Waiting on buying the 3/4" plywood until I know exactly how wide the drawer needs to be (after I get the rollers)

Not exactly the same style of latch, but I just ordered this one yesterday for my sleeper box project, can tell you how it turns out hopefully in the next day or two here.

Just ordered the same one - looks like I can make it work. We will be guinea pigs together!
