I totally agree with you! I was there last year with a rental x5 and was stopping so many times along that route albeit I got it stuck on one of the trips.

PS: Relatively new here but I've bookmarked and been following your build/adventures. Love what you're doing man!

This was on Icefields Parkway (Hwy 93), midway between Banff and Jasper in Alberta, Canada. Truly one of the most jaw dropping drives that I have ever experienced.

Oh man. That's only a day's drive from Seattle! Looks like I need to schedule a trip to Jasper & Banff!

If you cannonball it from the PNW you can get there in a day. If you're wise, you'll take at least 2 days to get there to fully appreciate the drive. Otherwise you're just missing out!

Traveled this road, Icefields Pkwy, a few years ago, absolutely beautiful. And yes, it does make you feel small, especially when your on motorcycles with camping tents and a good friend on a 7,000 mile trip from North Carolina. Great memories

What was the route down 93 like for fuel/pitstops/food? Looks like its a couple hundred miles from Jasper to Banff.

There is pretty much nada from Lake Louise to Jasper. But it's only 180ish miles. I filled up in Banff and had enough fuel to drive around Jasper for a day and a half before filling up when we left town.

You certainly took a more adventurous path down the same road! We were planning on camping along the route, but many of the campsites on 93 are closed until the end of May. And because it's a National Park, there is no dispersed camping allowed :crazy:

Hi Max, hope all is well. I just bought the same battery thanks to your write up. What are you doing regarding topping off the battery??? I'm thinking of installing the NOCO 1-Bank 10 Amp On-Board Battery Charger, let me know your thoughts. Thanks in advanced!!!

Awesome! Glad to have aided in the research! As for topping off, it's not needed for this battery. You'll run into issues with recharging when you run something like a group 31, and the alternator cannot produce enough power to recharge it fully. With a stock sized battery, you won't run into that issue. That was a major deciding factor with this battery over a larger one for me. If you do feel that a charger is necessary, I would check THIS ONE OUT as it charges at 7.2A (7A minimum recommended from Northstar). Hope that helps!

Weekend in the Mountains

Just a quick photo post from the weekend exploring around the Tahoe / Truckee area with Frank (@frankrebelo on IG) and my coworker in her DCLB Tacoma. The trail was more rutted and technical than the last time I came through here 2 years ago...
