Built up old Chevy

Finally getting a chance to post this.

Travelling east-bound on the Ohio Turnpike. Caught up to this big old built up Chevrolet truck with Colorado plates. The front fender emblem said C4400. I don't think it's the original driveline because it had military wheels. The bed looks extended to match the wheel base. He must burn alot of fuel going cross country.

The back bumper had a hand painted for sale phone number. Anyone know what year the body is or seen this thing around Colorado?

Looks like an old duece an a qaurter frame witha 50's chevrolet body on it with the 50's chevy bed grafted onto the origianal truck bed of the army truck.

They built one of these on xtreme 4x4 but they bobbed it instead of the opposite.

I think yc4runner meant deuce and a half, which is an M35 2-1/2 ton military cargo truck

I think its more likely to be a ~1959 chevy viking c-60 (the body at least) going by how much wider the front clip is than the cab. Not sure about the frame could be M35, could be stock.

edit: actually I'm pretty sure now its this: '56 Chevrolet 4400. Looks like that's probably the stock frame as well

It's definitely a 4400 from the emblems. Not sure about the frame being stock but some of the drivetrain (axles, wheels) were military, not stock rear duallies. Sure needed the larger side fuel tank.
