Bump/thump after lift

I put the toytec super-flex springs in the rear of my 4runner with bilstein 5100 and now i find when I hit a big bump or go over a hill on a trail faster than a crawl I get e thump or bump/bang in the rear on the passenger side I looked and everything seems tight plus no rub marks anyone have this problem? on road it drives great and even over speed bumps no noise. I tried to search it but i get overwhelmed with the bump at stop that we all know about

Hmm, I had no issues. Have you double checked the spare, jack, etc. to make sure they're secure and not rattling around?

Could be a few other things too. Check the alignment of the spring relative to the lower spring seat on the axle and make sure it is aligned properly. Also check the alignment at the top of the spring and make sure you re-installed the rubber bump stop at the top of the spring on both sides. Also, check the upper retainers and bushings on the shocks themselves, maybe one is busted or was left out by mistake. Also check to make sure that the top nuts on the shocks are torques down enough (they should compress the bushings and cause them to bulge but should not cause the retainers to dig into the rubber). I don't mean to insult if these things are all good, but I left out a retainer on my front 5100 install and had to re-do everything.

If all of these things are good, maybe you just got a bad shock from Bilstein. You could try swapping back your original shocks.

The spring being properly position was my first thought also. Make sure the shocks are the proper length and not bottoming out. This can be checked by putting a tie wrap around the shaft before off roading and seeing how far the shock body pushes the tie wrap on the shaft.

THANKS for the ideas. I never get insulted by suggesting the simple things I know they are easiest to overlook! my friend put that side together so I will recheck it again this time closer

Hey all: I just thought I would post that I just did a Toytec/Bilstein lift on my 2006 and it had a disconcerting thump from the rear end very similar to what others described. I ended up finding that the Panhard rod on the driver's side rear was just a bit loose. A quarter turn of a wrench and it has been perfect.

In fact, I love the kit. The springs and Bilsteins deliver an amazing improvement in ride and look good too.
