Yeah, I was just going to use black paint, but then I saw this stuff and thought it would work better. It does kind of have a nice rough texture. I'll let you guys know how it holds up, but to be honest, I have high hopes. Duplicolor I think makes pretty quality products. I used their wheel paint like 3 years ago, and it STILL looks great. The only paint chips I've had is where the lug nuts contact the wheel from when I rotate my tires.
The Satoshi grill has been kind of at a stand still. I just finished patching all the holes today with the fiber glass. Now I'm going to add a layer of bondo to the whole thing and start sanding. But yeah, it looks like its going to be a huge PITA, and right now the grill looks like trash. I'm also hoping that I can drill through the bondo without any cracks or anything. I like the way you did your mesh with it bolting to the grill with a little buldge. That way I can mount a 't-o-y-o-t-a' piece relatively straight up and down vs the angle. The only difference is instead mounting the bolts going up, I'm going to have the bolt heads on the inside of the grill so it can be more flush. I don't know. I'm still probably weeks away on this.
