bumper light (by fog lights)/ key fob locking with engine running

This has probably already been talked about but I didn't come up with any thing trying to search.

So just wondering if anyone knows how the best way to make so I can turn the lights (by the fog lights) off when the marker lights are off.

So I can have the vehicle running with all the lights off.

And my for me other question.
does any one know if you can make it so you can use the key fob while the key is in the ignition (i.e. leave the truck running and lock the doors).
It wouldn't let me lock the doors even if the truck is off, if the key is in the ignition

If you want to temporarily turn the amber lights off and you aren't moving then press the parking brake on slightly. If you want to permanently change them search for threads on how to disable DRLs.

Can't do anything about the door locks & key fob. They've idiot proofed it so you can't lock yourself out (good for me because I'm one of those idio...)

Actually you can keep the car running, take the key out of the ignition, and lock the doors. It'll require the use of a remote starter, but you can still do it.

I've got a viper 791, and if I'm going in somewhere for a quick stop I just activate my remote start with the car running then turn my key to off right after my remote beeps signifying that the remote start has been activated. I'm sure you could do this with the factory remote as well, but either way you'll have to add a remote start to your car.

Thanks guys, that is exactly what I needed on the DRL's.

And for locking it while running, I has a remote started on my want list so I hop that will work out for me.
