Never heard it called that before, but it has to do with mandatory regulations. Not sure of the specifics. If you want to level it, you can get a 1" leveling spacer kit, or go for a little more lift with a 2"front/1" rear, or a 2.5"front/1.5" rear spacer kit.

The 1" leveling kit won't make it perfectly level, there will be some rake to it, so you may want to contact Jason at www.burtmanindustries.com and have him special order you a 1.25" spacer from Cornfed which will almost perfectly level it out.

Use the search button at the top of the forum to find pictures and reviews on all types of spacers.

Will spacers interfere with the Xreas? I'll actually be doing some moderate off roading with this, will the spacers cause excessive wear on the CV joints or anything else?

The front nose dive is mainly for car-truck/SUV crash compatibility. This is why you see it on all new SUVs.

I would recommend the 1" spacer front lift IF leveling out the 4runner is your only purpose. This should have minimal effects on CV wear. However, if you really want the best for your CVs, then keep it stock and learn to love the nose dive.

Another option (which i think is a great idea also) is replacing your front springs and shocks with those from FJ Cruiser 4wd models. I hear that these FJ components provide a small lift and should not hurt anything because the 4runner and FJ share the same front suspension components otherwise (except that FJ has smaller front anti-roll bar). This was done recently by a fellow forum member...you may want to do a search.

From what I've read XREAS seems to be compatible with spacers and mild lifts... When people get radical enough with suspension mods they generally opt for more aggressive non-XREAS aftermarket shocks.

I'm the guy that did FJC springs. You can search 'CJ3Flyr' rather than a keyword. For some reason the search function is a little moody sometimes especially if a post is old. If you remember the poster and search that way it always works. Good luck:biggrin2:

The higher back end is also to help deal with carrying heavy loads. Usually any load over 200lbs will start to 'sag' the back, reducing braking and steering performance. A leveling kit will make load carrying performance bad. They also mess with the headlight aiming.
I am probably in the minority, but level stance suvs look silly to me.

Then, you probably don't like any old SUVs, e.g. Land Cruiser, G500, Tahoes, etc..
