That's not a 4Runner. Check out the gas cap (or where the gas cap used to be) - it's on the right (passenger) side and not the left (driver) side.

That was the first detail that gave it away for me too. Also, the back door looks like it would fold down, or to the side- Not up. The nose is also too square.

It could have been a 2nd gen. They had the gas tank on the passenger side.

The rear side window on the burned vehicle looks much too long/narrow for it to be a 4Runner though.

Also, the gas tank opening is round, not square like on the 4Runner.

I think what we refer to as a Chevy is sold as Holden in Oz.

it is def a second gen, the tailgate flips down. Just look at the back window, you can see the outline of where the glass should be, just cause the window cutout is smaller than the glass is, this is true even on our 4th gens, look at the size of the window from the outside, and then look at it from the inside, the inside is much smaller. also look at your gas door when you open it the hole is round, but the door is square.

yes some had reverse lights there, some red reflectors, i dont know what years or packages had these lights, but here is one with the lights and a rear tire carrier which this one doesnt look like it has

Didn't they ever teach you that a square does not fit into a circle?

Although it is circular on the inside, the metal part must be square for it to have a square door... Think about it... If it is supposed to close all the way, it has to be square. This one is circle.


I stand by it not being a 4Runner, however this is all speculation and guesses. No one will ever know who is right or wrong, so everyone is entitled to their own opinions of it.
