Hey all,
Anyone ever experience a burning smell when driving with the sun roof open? For reference, the smell is typically strongest when just starting the truck and immediately opening the sunroof while moving. I went offroad and in a little bit of mud about a month or two ago. That's also around the same time I got my oil changed and a leaky transfer case addressed, but like I said thats was at least a month ago and the smell is still there. I have since washed underneath my truck and that may have helped a little (maybe just in my mind). The smell is also not coming through the vents, just the sunroof. Also it does not appear to have anything to do with the heater/AC.
My truck has just under 200k miles on it with no engine knocking, no smoke on startup or anything to indicate engine problems. Oil rountinely changed.
Stumped...maybe exhaust seals or gaskets? Thought maybe excess grease from the dealership fixing my transfer case, but I would have figured it would have burned off in a month. Running out of ideas...
