WARNING INTRO IS PIC HEAVY...

Finally starting a build thread for the 4Runner. I recently got the car to replace my Honda Pilot that was getting old and tired. Just like most of the guys here in the forum, I have done some builds before and I use this journal/build thread to look back at what I have done, as well as document every mod/repair that I have done to the car which has proven to be helpful when the time comes to sell it. I look forward to learning more about the 4runner in this forum with all the information that you guys have posted through the years!

I also wanted to share 3 significant cars (to me at least) that I have done in the past.

1998 HONDA PRELUDE (Mugen)= Keep in mind that this was in the early 2000s so forgive me if it looked a little ricey! I was young!

2004 BMW E46 M3 (CSL Vorsteiner) = here’s my long build thread for the BMW if anyone is interested. In this build, I went all out... From a variety of wheels ( WORK WHEELS, CCW WHEELS, APEX ARC8 WHEELS) to interior color change, tranny swap, etc. Busabos77's E46 M3 Journal - BMW M3 Forum.com (E30 M3 | E36 M3 | E46 M3 | E92 M3 | F80/X)

Ordered Magnum RTs and had them installed. My 5 year old was having a hard time getting in the car despite the car having OEM suspension. They are pretty sturdy and looks good. I really have no plans of going hardcore off-roading but it should be easy to take it off if and when I change my mind.

I don't see ricey in that Prelude at all, it looks super clean and well-done to me. Could use a little more sidewall for my taste but I suppose that's where the 4R comes in...what do you have planned for the build?

Oh man! The prelude was during the early 2000s, which explains the thin sidewalls. LOL. It’s long gone now. I am still learning and researching more about the 4runner. What I have in mind mostly are basic things. Lift with a good suspension but not too crazy since I don’t really go off-roading. I really want to get rid of the nosedive. I’m looking at some toytec kits but the shop here in VT gave me an estimate of $900 to install! Might find another shop or do it myself when I have the time. Upgrade wheels and tires. Maybe a nice full rack. I’m sure it will keep adding up.

Been a while since my last update. Finally started coming together and lifting the car soon. Will post photos. In the meantime...

Black out covers for emblems were installed.

Currently how the car sits today before the lift and wheels/tires install. I’ll post more details about the suspension set up soon.
