Buttons/switches in center console

So, if it's a dumb question, please disregard. I'm looking for some OEM style switches for the center console in my SR5. I'd like to add some functionality to the area that I believe is normally a seat warmer (tired of looking at the blanks in there now). So.... my question is, are there blank buttons that fit these spots? Is it an FJ button (as with the 4th gens)?

you can add aftermarket seat warmers, but you can't use the OEM switches with them. (they'll come with their own switches; put 'em where the factory ones would go.)

Well, I don't want to add seat warmers, I just want to utilize the space where the blanks are and use an OEM looking button there. I was looking for where I can track down a few buttons for a project.

What kind of operation do you want the 'button' to perform (extra lights, etc)? If you are looking to just fill the space you could order the seat warmer switches and install them, obviously nothing to wire them to, but they are not an on/off. Doubt you will find an exact match for that size for an on/off but you never know.
 
A while back I found a place online that was selling the OEM style Toyota Switches. They had a variety of them to choose from, even more than what Toyota offers. I just cannot seem to find that site again. If I remember correctly they were around $70 per switch. I'll keep Google searching and post the site if I find it.
 
Just get on eBay and search for "Toyota switch". You will find many that fit and match that location.
 
FWIW, I think it would be really cool to relocate the sunroof controls to that area...right next to the rear window button...ahh that would be so nice!
 
thanks for the link - those are nice switches! the <$12 price is nice to see as opposed to some of the OEM switches that i have heard others paying $70+ for.

also remember to account for the wife/kids/dogs that can easily turn on the switches when they are right there...

Yep, a simple on off will do. If I explained the particular project, I'm sure someone would give me grief, but who knows. I'm exploring the option of a hard wired remote device that I would like to be able to turn on or off. Well, 2 devices, but they are the same general principle.

Hey gamerc, have fun with your buttons/projects. It's your vehicle so do with it what you will and don't be shy about sharing it here on the forum! The naysayers are in the minority here, and besides, you could always tell 'em where to go! :boxer:

Ahhh, I see you are going to be the 1st with hydraulics, bouncing down the street, drinking your gin & juice :) :girl:

As said before, no reason to be shy about it, someone might want to do whatever you are one day, and if the info is here it might help them.
 
Actually, I wanted to put a power button for a remote radar detector. I don't speed, but the idea is nice for road trips so I can comfortably push it 10 miles over. I also wanted a power button for screens I would like to install in the backs of my headrests. My daughter is 1, so I have a little time to find some screens, install, etc. This way, I can turn it on and off with just a press of a button and not have to worry about fumbling with controls while driving.

Oh, and scissor doors, neon lights, hydraulic bouncing, and powered spinners spinning on command. Looks like I need more buttons.

A double rocker switch would do. Or better yet, run a tank for each: push button fills a shaker with pre-measured ice, gin, and juice, hydraulics kick into to mix it up with a wiggle and a few hops, and then a pull tap pours it from center console.
