Buyback Notice??

Anybody ever receive a buyback notice from their dealer. I got one today for my 2003 4runner...I guess they're getting alot of requests for them. ANyway, the notice says "great trade in deals" and "no money down" or "monthly payments to fit my budget" on any new or used Toyota.

A lot of dealers do that as a marketing scheme. It is most likely a letter to draw you in!

Its just a scam to get you in to the dealership, where hopefully you will trade your existing car in on a new one. That way they get you coming and going.

I received the same notice for my accord. If you read Edmunds "Confession of a car salesman" he talks about something similar with the phone calls to your house. With the invention of the do not call list, the dealers have to resort to mail.

It would be nice to have a do not mail list

Its all about marketing and to get you thinking, and it seems to be working ......lol.

Although its a marketing thing you can get some benefits from doing it and moving into a newer vehicle and there are some good deals to be had, but do the research on the numbers before you pull the trigger.

I figured as much. I've been driving cars for awhile, surprised that this is the first time I've seen something like this...that's all.

Make sure you read the fine print. I get them all the time from various dealerships - even ones that carry another brand of car.

I work for a dealer and those flyers are just a preprogrammed thing for the database customers. Its used to draw customers to trade out of their old cars and into new cars or even used cars. Don't bother they really don't want YOUR car they just want to sell you a car.
