Buyer's remorse - from my wife (and her Xterra!)

So I just bought my new '14 TEP back in June, and I used the Costco program to buy the truck. I know there are guys out there who did way better than the Costco pricing, but I was happy to get it for $3k below MSRP ($400 below dealer "invoice").

Anyhoo, my wife was in the market for a new ride, she wanted to trade in her Santa Fe, and I suggested a 4R, but she said she "didn't need a $41k truck".

I told her she could probably get into an SR5P for $35k (probably $32-33k with the Costco pricing) , but she wasn't interested.

So she bought a new Xterra Pro-4X, which is their top-of-the-line model. Turns out there were no Costco dealers for Nissan around us, so she just had to negotiate (she sells houses, and she ROCKS as a negotiator).

Long story kind of shorter, she got the Xterra for around $29k and change.

Now every time she gets in my TEP she makes comments:

"I wish I had a sunroof"
"I wish I had an auto up window" (hers goes down, but no auto-up? WTF???) I told her ALL my windows, including the rear window and even the sunroof, are auto-down and up, and she just groans.
"I wish my truck had come with a hitch"
"I wish mine had a bigger display"

etc., etc.

I like her Xterra, but it doesn't has anywhere near the ride and finish of the 4R. It rides really soft, sounds great (exhaust) , but lacks lot of sophistication(?).

I doubt it but he can try lol it does sound like she is breaking down and will be ready to trade soon!

You can install a double din Navi unit that will kill the oem Navi, you can install dei 530t window modules that make it auto up and down, you can add sunroof that will even close when you shut off the car. Still come in less than $32

All her complaints could be turned into I have what you have.

Have you taken it off-road? My understanding is the soft ride you don't like is still like the 05 we bought new. The first gravel road I hit I punched it up to 40MPH right away like I was used to.....and a mile later I pulled over to figure out what was broken. That EXTREME level of bottoming out does not jump out in the test drive, but is a killer, even around town on bumps and speed bumps. Load up for a big off-road trip? Forget it, everything will break from the re-lent-less bouncing. I upgraded mine to the Calimini lift which replicated the soft springs. There are aftermarket fixes now, and good aftermarket springs. But it has to be asked why? They had many design flaws in 05, why did they leave this much complained about one alone for 10 years?

The odd thing is I have an 05 Titan and the suspension is tuned perfectly...so they could fix it.
