Anybody got the low down on the changes for 2005 yet? I've read about the new V8, is there anything else that would convince me to wait? I've been googling like mad trying to find some details. I've been offered 3K off msrp (canuck) and there's some sweet rates on right now. Thanks, guys!

personally, i'd wait for the new V8. There is like a 35 HP increase as well as torque is increased with the VVTI. To me that is the primary reason to wait. Anything else would be pretty superficial. You're going to get awesome discounted rates on the 2004 because of the year end deals, it's up to you if it's worth the wait and the extra cost of 2005. The dealer won't be as generous with the deals for the 2k5.
This is my first post after a very exciting weekend. I just bought a 2004 V8 - got the deal through carcostcanada.com and saved 3600 off MSRP (about 4200 incl taxes). I'm v happy with the car as it is - the extra HP would have been nice but the inevitably higher insurance premiums and the higher purchase price swung me towards the 2004. At the end of the day it's never going to be a sports car so the extra HP was not a real concern - I still get the torque I wanted for towing etc and the peak horsepower still comes in at lower revs than the V6. Considered the Pilot and the Highlander but neither seemed to compare in terms of interior quality and ability to tow - plus I wanted a real SUV this time
An extra 35(?+)hp would be nice, but its going to be high-rpm power with the VVTI which, like DaveS said its not a sports car. I've got a WRX that satisfies the need for speed. I'm more concerned about suspension, amenities, that kind of stuff. Well done on CarCostCanada, I looked at that - sounds like a great deal. I can't decide if the Sport is worth extra dough over the B package. I have no need for the 3rd row of seats.
I got the 3rd row in fact (I was more concerned about the squeaks from the rear occupants than the other squeaks and rattles referred to on this forum) - once I knew I could remove them (the seats) I figured it gave me more options plus it meant the 17 inch wheels and a few other things which I wanted. Glad to have them tho the kids will grow out of them I know! I REALLY wanted the Sport but headroom with the sunroof was the issue - fine in the drivers seat but the passenger seat has no height adjustment and both my wife and I were too tall to fit in the passenger side without some substantial recline!

It does compromise headroom a little in the back but I was referring to the front passenger seat. I am 6'2" and my wife is 5'11" but we are both tall in the body - I often have problems with headroom in autos so this was no surprise - it is worth checking out if you have only test driven one without a sunroof however. ( I was there trying to persuade my wife she could perhaps fit in the passenger seat but it was a definite no go - she wanted the inevitable minivan but has come round to the 4runner big time now

The 35 HP is nice, but I'd like to see standard side air bags. I don't think that will happen fro a while.
The 04 deals are great, so is availability.
Probably a price increase in 05. It may take a year for the same deals and availability, and interest rates may be higher in the future. Have to consider how much more the extra 35 HP may cost in the end.
