Buying a new '19 T4R, do I need these options?

Several of the trucks I've been looking at also come with the following options. One dealer has offered to give me a lower price if I don't want/need these options.

I do plan to make some mods eventually, so unless any of these options are considered "best in class" I'd probably be replacing them at some point anyway.

-2T All Weather Floor Liners/Cargo Tray
-3T Roof Rack Cross Bars
-R2 Predator Tube Step (or R6 Running Boards)

Thoughts?

I got that stupid step on my 2018 TRD OffRoad. It looks nice, but useless unless you lift the truck. I find i hit my calf on the steps getting out a d the real PITA is i bash my shin on them when I want to lean in to the cab. So when the time comes they are going in the trash. Save the money on them and get a good rock slider.

The floor liners are ok, but like my old Husky ones better.

Cross bars i don't have, don't plan on using the rack unless I some how manage to get the time to hit the slopes again. Most get aftermarket racks, depending on how much load they carry.

Thanks Charlievee, it's great to hear about some real life anecdotes such as yours.
 
the current model floor liners are decent, much better than the original design. if you want them though negotiate to the very end without them, past having a handshake deal and all that, then at the very end before you sign say, "actually, i want the floor liners too, if you add them at this same price i'll sign the deal"

the factory crossbars are useless, something like the LFD ruggedized bars are much better

i liked the rear cargo cover accessory, it was very handy and I only got rid of mine after getting a fridge that was too tall for the cargo cover
 
I've been very pleased with the floor liners. I have the "regular" running boards, and while I think they look nice, I'd probably skip them if I had it to do over. Unless you know you have some immediate need for the crossbars, Id skip those. You can easily add them later if you need to.
 
IMO the Toyota floor liners are the best looking. Aftermarket options provide better protection, but I don't think they look as good.
 
I would skip ALL of them. Take the cheaper price.

Remember, they will roll the cost of those into your financing and it will increase your payment and interest costs, etc.

And like others said, you can do better after market
 
As mentioned take the cheaper price. That's actually quite nice that the dealer is willing to take off the options, usually they just stick it to you.

That's a good point. There are listed as installed "installed at port" so if it's a special order it should be fine.
 
My 4Runner came with the all weather floor liners and I like them better than the Weathertech in my girlfriend's Tacoma. The Toyota liners are rubber-like and sits better than the Weathertech which is more plastic feeling. Also the Weathertechs got sticky and warped in the hot Florida sun. I have to occasionally twist them to make them sit flat on the floor.
I have the Toyota all weather cargo rear tray also but it's on the sliding tray so it might be different than yours. The all weather cargo tray material is not as rubbery as the front floor mats.
The factory roof rack bars work fine with the Thule Motion XT cargo box. If you were going to mount something heavier you're probably better off getting something like this LFD cross bar, link below.

The stock cross bars are apparently very low and may not be compatible with aftermarket equipment. Everything else is decent but echo others on saving money.
 
I would make sure you don't get any unwanted options like the Karr alarm system that some dealers have installed. There is a long thread about this.

I would also go over the the paperwork very carefully to make sure everything is there that you ordered or talked about. If I had it to do over again I would ask for a set of manuals (CD or hard copy) or an included lifetime subscription to Techstream.
 
The "all weather mats" are junk, I paid an extra 200some dollars for them and then replaced them within a couple months with Husky Liners. The crossbars are pretty flimsy, if you plan to carry something on the roof you can always add more sturdy ones. The steps, to each their own, I removed the stock running boards and replaced them with N-Fab steps which were stock on a few years, I like them but they're not real practical if you're not lifted like others said
 
Also there have been a number of threads dealing with Toyota's infotainment system. Problems with updates, phone paring and compatibility, etc. Some phone issues stem from future updates on either the phone or the cars system. I'd ask your dealer about how they are going to deal with these issues should they arise sometime down the road. Are they going to charge you to resolve these or what.
