Buying a new 4Runner

I am looking to buy a new 4Runner, but I am unsure of what is a good price. I currently have an offer from a dealer for $33,961 plus tax and fees ($289 processing). The out the door price will be $34,589.

The 4Runner is a 2011 4wd Salsa Red with Graphite cloth interior (SR5). It has Carpet Mats, Convenience Package(CPDT), CD Player (DJDT), 8 way Power Seat (PEDT) and 50/50 Split 3rd Row (THDT). Is there any other options I should probably add on?

Dealer states that Invoice on the 4Runner is $34,260. I don't know how accurate that is, and I was unsure of what to counteroffer this dealer.
Thanks for the help

Mine says $33,613. So do you think I should offer just below this or start at this price? Is the $289 dealer processing fee avoidable? It seems that salsa red with graphite cloth interior is pretty rare. I don't want to lose it over a couple hundred dollars, but I want the best price possible.

I just looked again at those rates. What's funny is the price it says they will offer was exactly his initial offer. He did come down $200 when I told him I would call him later.

Another tidbit that I wanted to add. He said the the 4runner is going for factory upgrades tomorrow at Southeast Toyota. I don't know if that is a pressure tactic or the truth. I'm new to new car buying so I'm a little thrown by dealers.
Just to be clear, I'm not interested in the upgrades that it will be getting.

I believe if you go through that website the dealer has to give you the vehicle at that price. Maybe get some other users views since I haven't personal bought a new 4runner. I know I can buy a new car through USAA my insurance company, or costco. I thought that dealers really don't make that much $$ off new car sales, they make it of the extra's (fake waxing, interior protection) and financing. Be careful about that stuff, thats where you will loss cash!

when i was looking, another user suggested i try zag.com.
I chose the american express partner link. within 30 minutes a dealer in houston called me with the exact model i wanted...with a price I was content with.

ZAG.com

I used Zag to get my initial offer. I was just wondering am I getting a good deal or not compared to the market. Zag is the free site, right? Should I go with a lower offer?

None of the offers from local dealers were as low as the Zag price though. It's kind of weird to have the automated offers even if that particular car isn't available.

I started out with Zag as well - still negotiating to get the best price. Probably about to close a deal in next few days. Ask the dealer for the invoice, try to get within $500. I have been working a few guys off eachother and I can get a deal below "invoice" right now; just trying to get the color my wife likes the most :)

I've found some dealers dont want to deal, they'd rather not sell the car, whereas others are more than willing to cut a deal to move a vehicle, just get quotes from 3-5 dealers in your area.

I think I found the car I want. It has more options than the one I listed for an even cheaper price. I'll post pictures if I am able to get it.

i believe my SR5 has the same options as yours, but i got the premium package which is the leather, and i think i got it for like 33,700, and the sticker was 37,500 or something like that. just fyi

It seems prices have shot through the roof on 4runners. I'm placing a buyer's order for a 4runner. Should I get the factory crossbars or just go aftermarket once purchased? They are offering $131 for the OEM cross bars. Also, I can get window tint for $199 but I would have to get the front windows tinted to match. What are people paying to get their 4runners tinted with quality tint?

I think I decided to get the rocky road roof rack, and get the whole thing tinted somewhere myself. Do y'all think there are any have to have options?
