Me thinks the dealer needs to sharpen his pencil!!

Here's my deal so far:

2017 Taco Sport Access Cab = $33,970
Options = $938
Delivery & Processing = $960
Total = $35,868.00
Dealer Discount = -$2764.00
Truck Total = $33,104.00

Dealer Fee = $495
AutoBahnd Paint Protector = $384
5 Yr / 125K Warranty = $1750
2017 Tacoma OTD = $35,733

AND.......

2018 4Runner ORP = $39,495
Keep it Wild Factory Discount -$750
Delivery & Processing = $995
Total = $39,740
Dealer Discount = -$1240
Truck Total = $38,500.00

Dealer Fee = $495
AutoBahnd Paint Protector = $384
7 Yr / 125K Warranty = $2050
2018 4Runner ORP OTD = $41,429.00

No Trades, Financing BOTH Trucks through my business.

Observations:
Taco discount is OK, I think?
4Runner Discount Sucks, I think?
Warranties I Have no idea??

When I bought my last 4Runner I thought I got at least a $3,000 discount.

Taco is for an employee of mine, but the 4Runner will be my new ride.

One last point, it seems ORPs in Black or Mag Gray seem to be scarce between now and the end of the year. Dealer is telling me there's only 1 Black and 2 Gray Available.

This is the Dealers 1st Offer, same guy I bought my 2015 4Runner from.

Do you have the VIN numbers and mileage? If so send them to me and I'll run them through my appraisal program.

I think that if you can, you should take your time and Negotiate the max you can. I mean c'mon you are buying 2 trucks here....

Take a break and read the forums for a week :) and see what peeps have to say. You won't get a 2 for 1 deal but you can get a decent price/payments a month if you want.

Good luck man and gratz :) hehe do not forget to post pictures of what you got !

That's great advice and normally I'd do exactly that, but I need to have both trucks bought and registered before Dec 31

When I bought my 2015 I got close to $3000 off list, but inventory in NH is thin for Black or MGM gray ORPs

The Tacoma deal looks legit. Maybe get them to that 3k off and call it good. That 4Runner deal has more room in it. I think you could get another 1500-1800 off that. Ignore the factory discount stuff, it’s just factory feel good stuff. Use the “I’m buying 2 vehicles” to your advantage. And if you’re financing with them they should be willing to deal. Let me know if I can help. I’m one of the Sales managers at a Toyota dealership.

That's pretty much exactly what I thought too. If they have me $2500 - $3000 off each truck, they'd already have a deal on both.

What about those warranties? Ii don't know what is good or bad for warranty pricing.

I’m in FL, so our warranty pricing is state regulated. But to be honest, they would probably both be more expensive here, lol. Are they Toyota Motor Warranty’s or are they through a 3rd party?

I dont know for sure, but i think theyre Toyota. I will chexk tomorrow. Are the Toyota warranties superior?

They also threw out a TRD Pro in black as an option, but won't take anything off list and considering I have a full Icon stage 6 kit that I never installed on my 2015, that will end up on the 2018, all the TRD Pro buys me are Auto Headlights, badges and narrower rims.

We don’t use Toyota for warranties but I was wondering. We use Fidelity Warranty Services via Jim Moran and Assoc. I’ve had one and they are top notch! But I’m sure whatever they are offering is great value too.

Stick with the OR for sure, same capability more value. Especially since you have that Stage 6 hangin in the garage.

Copy that! I'm going to use the price difference between the ORP and the Pro to buy a 2 Post lift and finally install that stuff!!

That’s a phenomenal plan. I’ll head up and help lol. If only. Just bought my OR last Friday and I am itching to throw even 5100’s at 2.5 and 1.5 daystar at this point. Good luck on your dealings friend. :thumb:

Thank you! I truly appreciate your guidance. Good luck with your new ride!!

Also, the closer you wait till the end of the month, and the year in this case, the more a typical dealer will try to make sure you buy to make their sales goals numbers. The beginning of the month, they have all month to try to make their targets and secure bonuses. By the end of the month, dealerships sometimes become less focused on price to ensure a sale and that you are driving away with cars off their lot. And you are looking at two, not just one vehicle, so your sale becomes even more important.
