hey guys, looking at a 95 tomorrow. guy says it has a very recent complete tune up, timing belt, water pump, ball joints, half shafts and rear shocks. says he thinks it might be time for front shocks, and the switch for the rear window has died. said it was working great and JUST died. I will look tomorrow, but he describes it as having about 1" of rust repair done by a body shop to the rear fender lips. and that there is a small spot starting on the rear gate, not rot just surface rust so far. california car, so thats a bonus. a smidge over 200k miles. any suggestions on what to look for specifically? it is an auto v6. looked at a few so far, all have been rusty beyond what I care to deal with. but man, compared to the 95 jeep GC I borrowed over the winter they really feel a lot, and I mean a LOT, more tight. thanks guys!

I just brought a '95 with 145k miles. If I had it to do again I might have opted for a '96 or later. The '95 suffers from an underpowered gas guzzling engine compared to the '96. That said I am pretty pleased with the truck.
My rear window switch is also toast, as are some of my electric door locks. The electric side mirrors don't work either which is a problem as I can't find anyway to adjust them. I'd check all the interior electrics.
My power steering has a slow leak which I hear is fairly common on this model. You might want to ask what else leaks.
There's an ignition kill switch that works with the gear shift that can be a little flaky. Make sure she starts in both P & N.
Check to see if there's a spare tire under the rear end. I didn't notice that mine didn't have one until I had it home.
While test driving her you may hear a lot of valve noise. Apparently that's normal.
Not sure what the seller is asking but I paid $3000 for mine. Happy shopping.
