Buying new 2014 4runner soon

Hi all, i am about to pull the trigger on a new 2014 4runner. Have a couple of questions to folks here about price and stereo.

I'm looking at an SR5 in black, with the only option included is the 3rd row seat.MSRP $36,085. I've worked it down to an even $34k. Thoughts?

I drove an 2007 FJ Cruiser for 7 years, and pulled my aftermarket sound system before I sold the car and want to install it in the new 4runner. Questions here:
1) has anyone used this scosche dash kit? It says 2010 and up kit. How is the look and fit?

2) There is another 4runner in the dealership that has the upgraded Entune Premium sound/nav system, a $585 option. I didn't get a chance to play with it much. If would swap out the speakers, add 2 amps and a sub. Does anyone have the tech details on the system so i can see how many rca pre-outs it has, etc?

Good tip, thanks. I looked it up and it should be $33,200. So I have a bit of room to negotiate.

I bought my SR5 4WD base with Nav, 3rd Row, Cross Bars, All weather matts, Toyoguard crap for $34,000.

Get the Nav for the delta.

I also came from an FJ for six years.

Where and when did you buy it? The truecar report now in NJ shows $33,200, no nav, no cross bars, just the carpet mats.

I have a ultra-premium stereo/dvd/nav system (sub, 2 amps, component speakers, kenwood head unit) I pulled from my FJ that I plan to put in, thus my question above on the scosche dash kit.

Whaaaa?? If I found a SR5 4x4 Premium w/3rd row at that price I'd probably jump on it today.

We went Saturday and looked at one locally that MSRP'd at the dealership for $39,390 or so. I pulled up a TrueCar as well and their MSRP is $40,020 (I also selected a Remote Starter).

All the SR5 Premiums w/3rd row in this area I've looked at are $39,xxx. A Base with 3rd row starts at $37,xxx.

We reeeally liked the Premium, but it's tough deciding between a 4Runner Premium and a Ford Exploder XLT w/leather, etc. when the price will be a few thousand less*, and seems the 'Sploder has more bells and whistles. Obviously, the two vehicles are Apples vs Oranges...lol. :tape:

(*Friend is management at the Ford dealership and can work a good deal for us; I can get a Toyota discount through my employer, but not as good as our friend can do at the other place.)

Honestly, the 4Runner is overkill for what we'd ever do with it, but they're awesome and I've wanted one forever. I drive a truck and like the feel of the ride; I want the Toyota reliability as well.

The Exploder is in the mix as it also offers what we want and we can get it at a lower price. Even though we'll probably keep whatever we get for at least 10 yrs, I like how the 4Runners hold their value.

As to the Truecar, ah, yeah didn't catch the FL location. Ugh, that blows (for me).

The dealer is in Westminster, Md should not be to far from you (if you don't mind the drive). They have 29 SR5 between there dealer locations. Check out there website

I think you should be able to get it lower, my sr5 base with nav, was stickered at 36365, I got it for 32440 before ttl. This was before the 500 discount. So I would think you should be able to get it for 32k-33k at most.

Wow, their WOW prices are well below invoice on all of them. What's the catch?

The wow price does not include 499 processing and 860 for freight. Ironically i was emailing the same dealer today about a Red SR5. There may be some wiggle room still but I find it so misleading to add freight in later when its part of the window sticker…Its not like a processing fee or tags.

I just plunked down $500 deposit for the new T4R:bounce:

I ended up getting a Premium model. Thanks for the truecar.com tip, I used it and got the price to within $100 of the truecar price.

Dealer is swapping it from somewhere else, and I will pick it up after the 4th of july weekend.
