In a vehicle with an electric throttle, an electric controlled transmission, ATRAC, ABS... might as well to get that technology to talk to itself.

Several people mentioned lever v knob on Trail v SR5,but the SR5 is available with a lever. The Trail is only available with a lever - as God intended.

SR5 is available with no 3rd row, and the 3rd row eats up a TON of space in the cargo area, they can say it's 1c/f but it is a big 1 c/f if that's the case.

Since when can you get a sr5 with the manual transfer case? I have never seen this

A few years back... and by that I mean a shifter... not a manual transfer case.

Because those don't exist.

IIRC, the lever still activates an electric actuator in the transfer case, so it isn't a true "manual" transfer case anyway. The only difference between the SR5 and the Trail is one has a lever and the other has a knob - it's the same transfer case otherwise.

A trail costs more, but will hold more value for resale. Not sure the ARB will increase the sale price of an SR5. It may actually be the inverse as some buyers may think it was offroaded too much.

Below invoice is not a fabled thing. I never pay for MSRP, everything is negotiable. You can get any vehicle at invoice or even way below you are just going to have to negotiate and its really about good timing. Buy when they are trying meet quota's and can even get at invoice for the color of the vehicle and type you want. People were spending 49 OTD for the new 16 Pilot Touring AWD that's not even the elite and I got offers OTD for below 43K OTD for that same Pilot and it was even arriving until 7 January 16 for a black on black. What's the invoice for a 2016 4x4 base SR5? Close to 35K, I got mines at 32,500 so it is possible.

No. The shifter moves forks that engage and disengage the transfer case. The electronic element that you are thinking of is in the front differential. There is a collar that engages the passenger side front axle to the diff gear when 4WD is engaged.

The 2010 and maybe 2011 SR5s also had the manual lever for the transfer case. That changed at some point because most buyers preferred the dial like Tacoma and Tundra.

We ended up with a trail premium. She didnt like the interior of the SR5. Mainly the striped seats but the silver accent pieces she didnt care for either.

I got my SR5 below invoice. Not by much though. Once we realized you could get new cars below invoice that is all we are willing to pay. Sometimes it takes going to more than one dealership. I have noticed from this forum though that invoice prices are higher here in California than other places in the US.

Well the credit card it broke out! Husky liners are bought, GOBI is bought, looking at sliders, lifts and wheels and tires now. Im leaning towards PC Trail wheels or black ProComp 7069 wheels. I dont know why but those ProComps are some of my favorite wheels.

Whats yalls take on sliders. We just moved to Colorado and dont have my welder or bender set up or I would probably just build a set. What they charge is ridiculous IMO.

I picked up my TE on Saturday as well....Stevenson West.

I'm looking for sliders as well, but need ones that also function as a step for my wife. Currently looking at the Hefty Fabworks version as they are built here in CO and I bought a previous set for a different vehicle...nice quality.

Not for the Toyota ones, just the Bronco ones that I had...they were nice, but those had to be welded on. Looks like the 4Runner ones are better bolt on and compatible with KDSS. If you search for hefty Fabworks on Facebook, believe they have more pics than their website...the owner has a new 4Runner as well. He also has nice aluminum bumpers as well.
